Ringing In The New Year: 2015
Dec 31, 2014
January 1, 2015 will mark the start of our tenth month on this amazing and life-changing journey roaming the world. These past nine months have brought joy, adventure, excitement, stress, and tears as we traveled through new places and life itself. It has also brought a new appreciation for each other, the places we have been and the place we call home.
It has been an adventure that we would not trade for anything. So what are our best memories from 2014 and what are we looking forward to the most in 2015? Here is a quick run down from the Roamers…

Top 2014 Memory – This is a three-way tie for me. In no particular order, my top memories from 2014 are, arriving at JFK airport on April 1 and boarding the second plane bound for Cancun (I can’t say boarding the first plane is at the top of my list since it was malfunctioning and we had to de-board and wait!); discovering the country of Colombia – it wasn’t on our list originally but we changed our minds and it’s been my favorite country so far; and the third is my and everyone’s favorite memory: renting out a private island off the coast of Utila, Sandy Cay, for a few nights with some great friends and discovering a new and fantastic way to use dominos. This new game that we created includes playing "Jenga" with dominos. We had all been enjoying some delicious libations at the conception of this game, making it more fun than we could have ever imagined. This new game grew to have specific rules, tactics, and techniques and sits high at the top of our list of favorite things ever!
What I’m Looking Forward To In 2015 – I’d like to start off by saying that if 2014 taught me anything, it’s that anything is possible, nothing is promised, and things may or may not go the way you think they will or want them to. The best example of this is that when we started traveling back in April, we expected that we would be sitting in Sydney, Australia at this very moment having already celebrated the New Year! We are obviously a little bit off schedule. But that’s OK! It’s how the flow of life goes. So with that said, I’m looking forward to the changes in plan, the extended stays, and doing things we never thought possible.
Ok you want specifics? I’m looking forward to Southeast Asia!
