Hey everybody! My name is Alan and I have a big problem staying still (unless it’s the morning). Traveling and exploring new things has always excited me. In my 20’s I always pursued extreme sports such as motocross, skydiving, waterfall jumping, recreational shooting, bla bla bla… but now I enjoy more relaxed activities in my ripe old age of 31. A quiet hiking trail with an amazing view is about as good as it gets! My current travels with Kelly have allowed me to experience so many adventures in such a short period of time.

I could sum up my personality with one word: Optimize. Which of course, is to “make the best or most effective use of a situation, opportunity, or resource.”

After high school I joined the Marine Corps and found that “making the best of everything” is a necessary mindset for happiness. After the Marines I continued work in the Middle East as a security consultant, (until age 30) which has left me with a strong desire to WORK LESS and TRAVEL MORE. I hope to complete this through frugal living choices and smart investing. Traveling long-term may not fit into that equation perfectly but it does go along with my idea that money is best spent on EXPERIENCES not THINGS! Don’t forget that in life, your only limited resource is time.

So on that note, never stop Roaming!
